Introducing SM The Ballad - South Korean Ballad Project Group

SM The Ballad (also known as S.M. The Ballad) is a new South Korean ballad project group that was established under SM Management. SM The Ballad group held their debut performance on SBS's Inkigayo on November 28, 2010.

With the growing trend of Korean culture among teenagers, it doesn't take long for SM The Ballad to be recognized worldwide and soon become most wanted Korean ballad group. Especially when this group formed by well known faces in South Korean Music Industry

It's Rain-ing again!!!!

My friend Pi came from Arunachal here in Delhi for her Durga Puja holidays...I am very happy to meet her after a long time. I enjoy her company a lot....We went out for shopping, movie, eating out, etc....
We even went out looking for a job for myself just for the heck of it! lol...I got a job in Convergyse; Orange Aura(BPO).
She's fallen in love with Rain too!!! I made (forced) her to watch "A love to kill", a 16-episode Korean drama without any English subtitles. I had to relay her the entire story scene by scene. I have watched "A love to kill" more than 10 times! The more I see, the more I fall in love with Rain and the story! lol ;-P

Ariel Lin


Ariel Lin was born 29 October 1982. She is a Taiwanese actress and singer, who won Best Leading Actress in a Television Series at the 43rd Golden Bell Awards. She majored in Korean and Literature at National Chengchi University, Taiwan.

Lin was first discovered in a Taiwanese variety show Guess Guess Guess and was the champion of the pretty subway girl contest in the show. She was paired with Mike He in the television drama series Love Contract. After starring in several television roles in Taiwanese dramas and two films during the early 2000s, she rose to fame in 2005 for her role as Yuan Xiangqin in It Started With a Kiss. Lin was also praised for her work in Tokyo Juliet (2004) as Lin Laisui with Wu Chun and Simon Yam.

Her performances in The Little Fairy (2005) as The Seventh Fairy Maiden and The Legend of the Condor Heroes (2008) as Huang Rong brought her increased popularity in Mainland China. In October 2008, Lin won Best Leading Actress in a Television Series for They Kiss Again at the 43rd Golden Bell Awards. In 2008, she reunited with Joe Cheng, her co-star for It Started With a Kiss and They Kiss Again, in Love or Bread.

Annie Yi


Annie Yi (Chinese: 伊能静; pinyin: Yī Néngjìng; Japanese: Inō Shizuka) is a singer, a writer and an actress from Republic of China (Taiwan).

Born on March 4, 1969 in Taipei with the birthname of Wu Jingyi (吳靜怡), she changed her name after her mother remarried, to a Japanese man and then simplified it to Yi Nengjing upon returning to Taiwan in 1988 to launch her singing career.

She speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Japanese, and a little English. In 2010, she was selected as a judge for the television series China's Got Talent.

Angie Chiu

Angie Chiu became an air stewardess for Japan Airline after graduating from high school in Hong Kong. In 1973 she entered the first Miss Hong Kong Pagent by Hong Kong's TVB, and was the first runner up. This introduced her to the entertainment industry. In the late 70's she was one of the four hottest actresses for TVB.

Her works included mostly kung fu TV series opposite Adam Cheng. Then came 'The Bund' (aka Shang Hai Tan or Shanghai Beach) opposite Chow Yun-Fat (1980), where she portrayed Fung Ching Ching, considered her classic role. She also made TV series in Taiwan.

Angela Chang


Angela Chang was born on 19 January 1982. She is a Taiwanese Mandopop singer and actress. She has been nominated twice for Best Leading Actress in a Television Series at the Golden Bell Awards, Taiwan.

Angela Chang was born in Taiwan. Her family emigrated to Canada when she was 12. Chang is the eldest child in her family and has a sister and a brother. She is three quarters Han Chinese and one-quarter Uyghur. Her first language is Mandarin Chinese and also fluent in English.

She attended many singing contests when she lived in Canada. At the "Rothenacker Village Festival" singing contest "BBC Star," Chang won first place by singing Chang Yu-sheng's popular song "The Days Without Smoking (没有抽煙的日子)". She was offered the chance to go to Taiwan for the final, which she did not attend due to school commitments.

Moonse Lee - One Respectable Singer in South Korea

I have several Korean TV shows that I usually watch when I have freetime. Although it is not good for improving my English listening, I want watch those TV shows when I miss Korea. (Oh! I also watch some English TV shows.) Anyway, I watched Knee Taoist (It is translated to "무릎팍도사", which means that comedian who sits very leftside acts as a spiritual guide and he can see into guests heart before guests knee touch the ground when they are sitting.)

An Yixuan


Wu Wenjing born 29 September 1980, better known by her Chinese stage name An Yixuan or Audrey "Ady" An, is a Taiwanese film and television actress.

An rose to fame for her performance in the Taiwanese idol television drama The Oustiders in 2004, after which she chose to develop her acting career in mainland China. Since then, she has played many roles in both Chinese and Taiwanese television dramas, such as Chinese Paladin (2004), The Legend of Hero (2005), The Great Revival (2006), Fox Volant of the Snowy Mountain (2006), and Cowherd and Weaver Girl (2009). In 2009, An was chosen to play Zhao Min in the Chinese wuxia television series The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber, an adaptation of the novel of the same title by Louis Cha. The role of Zhao Min was previously portrayed by actresses such as Gigi Lai and Alyssa Chia. In the same year, An also returned to Taiwanese screens, starring as Liang Mucheng alongside Vanness Wu in Autumn's Concerto, which became the second highest rated Taiwanese idol television drama to date.

In 2011, An was paired up with Du Chun in Fight and Love with a Terracotta Warrior, a television series set in three different eras. An also played Li Shishi, a prostitute and mistress of Emperor Huizong of Song, in All Men Are Brothers, an adaptation of the Chinese classical novel Water Margin.

Ahn Jae Wook


Ahn Jae-wook born on September 12, 1971 (per lunar calendar), known as a South Korean actor, composer and singer. As a child he spent most of his childhood in his hometown, the district of Donamdong in Seoul, before graduating from Seoul Art College, where he majored in theatre.

After graduating in 1994, Ahn Jae Wook later went on to make his debut in the drama, The Song of Blind Bird, a drama that was based on a real-life story. Ahn Jae Wook, then a young man, took up side roles in several of the 1995-96 dramas before taking up a lead role in the 1997 drama, Star In My Heart. Together with Choi Ji-woo, both of them took up leading roles in the movie First Kiss in the following year.

Ahn Jae Wook also pursued a career in singing. He composed and sang several songs by making his debut in music from his music album, Forever. It was sung as the last song of Kang Min's concert in the ending part of Star In My Heart, and sold over 700,000 copies. His other main albums include Memories and Red in Ahn Jae-wook.

After School


After School is a South Korean girl group under the label of Pledis Entertainment. The group had their public debut alongside label mate Son Dam Bi in 2008 and on 17 January 2009 released the single, "AH!". Later that year, Uee joined the group, and After School released their second single, "Diva".

In fall 2009, Soyoung graduated from the group, which led to the addition of two members, Raina and Nana. The group then released "Because of You", which reached #1. In March 2010, After School released their 4th single, "Bang!" with the addition of 8th member, Lizzy. A new member called "E-Young" (Real name: Noh Li Young) was added to the line-up and performed on December 31, 2010.

The current band consists of Park Kahi, Kim Jung Ah, Lee Jooyeon, Bekah, Uee, Raina, Nana, Lizzy and E-Young.

183 Club


183 Club is a Taiwanese boyband managed by Jungiery. In other words, 183 Club is part of J-Star. Originally they were called "183 Yu Le Bu," meaning "183 Entertainment Group," but it was later decided that the name should be shortened to what it is now: 183 Club. The average height of the original five members combined together is roughly 183cm, hence the group name 183 Club.

However, it is true that only one member is actually 183cm tall: Johnny Yan, the former leader of 183 Club. They have acted in various Taiwanese dramas such as Magicians of Love, The Prince Who Turns Into a Frog and Le Robe de Mariage des Cieux.

The group's Magicians of Love Original Soundtrack won Best Original Soundtrack at the 2007 HITO Radio Music Awards, presented by Taiwanese radio station Hit FM.

Cha Seung Won


Cha Seung-won Born June 7, 1970 in Seoul, known as a South Korean actor. He received an engineering degree from Mokwon University before embarking on a successful career as a model in 1988. This led, in 1997, to a role in the SBS sitcom New York Story.

Although his debut film Holiday in Seoul (1997) and many of his subsequent roles did not establish him as a major star, he attracted attention in 2000 for his performance as an arsonist in the firefighting film Libera Me. The following summer, the runaway success of Kim Sang-jin's comedy Kick the Moon (over 4.3 million tickets sold) secured his place in the industry as a leading actor with strong star appeal. All of his films since then have been box-office successes.

In early 2003, Cha took on a slightly more serious role as a corrupt schoolteacher who is transferred to a country school in the film My Teacher, Mr. Kim. The film grossed over 2.4 million admissions and drew Cha additional praise for his acting abilities. His next role, in Ghost House, reunited him with director Kim Sang-jin in a successful comedy about a man who buys a dream home, only to discover it is haunted by a young female ghost.

Bi Rain


Rain born as Jung Ji-Hoon, June 25, 1982. Known as a South Korean pop and R&B singer, dancer, model, actor, businessman, and designer.

Rain's musical career includes seven albums (six Korean, one Japanese), 19 singles and numerous concert tours around the world. His acting career began in 2003, when he won the KBS Best New Actor award for his role in the drama Sang Doo! Let's Go To School. In 2004, Rain won the KBS Excellence in Acting award for his role in the drama Full House.

After starring in A Love To Kill, he acted in his first Korean film, I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK (2006), which won the Alfred Bauer Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival. Rain has acted in the American films Speed Racer (2008) and Ninja Assassin (2009), the latter of which made him the first Korean to win an MTV award. In 2007, Rain left the management of JYP Entertainment and started his own company, J. Tune Entertainment.

2AM


2AM is a South Korean four-member ballad boy band under JYP Entertainment. The members are Jinwoon, Jo Kwon, Seulong, and Changmin. 2AM is one of the two subgroups branched out from the eleven-member (before Jaebeom's departure) boy band One Day, the other being 2PM. They officially debuted on July 11, 2008 on KBS's Music Bank, performing their debut song "This Song". They won their first Mutizen at Inkigayo on February 7, 2010 with "Can't Let You Go Even If I Die".

2AM made a comeback with a second album, "죽어도 못 보내", on January 21, 2010 with "죽어도 못 보내 (Even If I Die I Can't Let You Go)" as the promoted track. In the week before the release, JYP Entertainment revealed a total of four teasers on their Youtube account. Along with a group teaser, the individual shots were based on the seasons. On February 7, 2010, 2AM won their first Mutizen award on Inkigayo since their debut. On February 25, 2010, their second win was on Mnet M! Countdown. They won a second Mutizen on their final day of promotions for "죽어도 못 보내 (Even If I Die I Can't Let You Go)" on March 7, 2010.

On March 5, 2010, 2AM revealed cuts of their new image through their official website. Jo Kwon, Changmin, Seulong, and Jinwoon respectively transformed to a club DJ, an ice hockey player, a biker, and a basketball player for their new 10 minute drama-music video. The repackaged mini album featured four additional songs, three from their first and second singles and one entirely new song titled "잘못했어 (I Did Wrong)", which was their promoted track. One representative stated, “The song we’re releasing is something that 2AM has never shown before and is a brand new type of music”. A portion of the song was revealed in the first episode of 2AM's new reality show 2AM DAY on March 10, where the members playfully sing along to it in the car. Four teasers were released for each member from March 12 to March 14. A leaked version of Part 1 of the music video was released on March 15, having been recorded by camera at 2AM's subway showcase. The album was released on March 18, 2010 and "I Was Wrong" won the Mnet M! Countdown on April 1, 2010.
